"My spiritual pilgrimage is more a series of realizations than dramatic moments of conversion. It began in my childhood in the fundamentalist/non-denominational Church of Christ that my parents attended; nearly every theological or faith experience since I was 16 has been born out of reaction to this thinking and yet I continually felt Christ's presence throughout that time. I was introduced to the Covenant during college when I met my husband Adam and after the harsh black-and-white boundaries of my childhood, the Covenant felt like a balm to my soul. It was a revelation of what God's love and the Church could look like. This realization culminated in graduate work in religion at Yale, where I found the space to discover how and why I hold the beliefs I do. My spiritual development since then has continued to broaden and deepen as I seek to listen to God, be changed by God's call on my life, and to engage in ministries of reconciliation in response to God's own reconciling love. I love ministry because it is the place in which I most often see God at work."
