From September 17-19, six women from Bethesda Covenant Church enjoyed a meaningful weekend retreat at Pilgrim Pines in New Hamphsire. The spiritual retreat speaker was Virelle Kidder, a full-time writer and conference speaker, whose titles include Donkeys Still Talk, Mothering Upstream, and Getting the Best Out of Public Schools. The retreat's theme was "Tapestry of Faith: Celebrating Our Unity in Christ," and in addition to times of worship and a concert, included workshops on prayer, managing stress, bracelet making, and domestic violence and abuse. Several offerings were taken during the weekend to benefit the Covenant Women Ministries 2004 Project "Light for AVA - Advocacy for Victims of Abuse," as well as the East Coast Conference project of raising money for the Children's Home in Cromwell, CT.
