Join Bethesda Covenant Church on Sunday, November 20 as we welcome as our guest preacher Joo Y. Hong. Ms. Hong has had the privilege of knowing Christ at a young age and growing up in a faithful Christian home. After spending her formative years in Maryland, she attended college in NYC. Beginning in her college days, the faith of her youth began to take on more meaning and depth as she began to struggle and seek a greater understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Upon graduation from Barnard College, she made her way westward where she spent five years with Wycliffe USA, a mission organization whose primary goal is to provide Scripture to those who do not have it in their own language. In Southern California she met a family with plans to plant a multi-ethnic Covenant church in the NY metro area with an emphasis on ministering to the poor and oppressed. In 2003, Joo returned to the East Coast and moved to NJ to help make the vision a reality. She currently serves as a lay leader for Metro Community Church in Fort Lee, NJ with plans to pursue education and to continually live out her calling of seeking God and ministering to others.
